The new game will appear on the GameCube in place of the "Wrestlemania" brand games, and be called: WWE Day of Reckoning. The genre itself will see an overhaul on the GC, complete with new and updated features. Here is what we know so far:
--The roster will contain over 40 WWE superstars, including Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, HHH, John Cena, and Randy Orton.
--WWE Legends will make an appearance, much like on WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain on the PS2
--The Bra & Panties match will be included
--There will be a brand new story mode, nothing like the "Revenge" mode seen in WWE Wrestlemania XIX. You'll be able to create a wrestler, and raise him through independant promotions before being hired into the WWE to compete on television. There will be story segments much like the Smackdown series, but the stories themselves will be a bit more linear.
--There will be strong and weak grapples, and an overhaul on the submission system. Plus, move counters will be assigned to the L&R triggers.
The game is being groomed for a September '04 release. We'll have more info as it comes available.
