The news updates from the geeks eye

Lots of sequel talk over the weekend (much of it from the "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" junket) for some big franchises and potentials on the horizon:

X3
Hugh Jackman recently spoke about the possibility of returning as Wolverine to Horror.Com and it all sounds good: "I'm contracted for another Van Helsing, but I'm not contracted for any more X-Men. But, would I like to do it? I'd find it hard to see someone else play the role, yeah. I love both of them. If I hated the movies and had to come again, it would be a terrible situation".

James Bond 21
Pierce Brosnan is still playing coy about coming back as 007 according to CBN. Gossip queen extraordinaire Cindy Adams talked with Pierce Brosnan last week at an Oscar party and asked him flat out whether he'll do the next Bond film. His response: "Well, I really can't say. Actually, it's not for me to say. I mean, I don't know. I'm certainly willing. I would think, I guess, that the people you should probably be asking are the producers, not me".

Spider-Man 3
With all the talk that Maguire and Raimi are already speaking about the next film but aren't signed yet, Kirsten Dunst revealed to About.Com that everyone is signed on for three films. What about renegotiations? "For more money? No, that hasn’t even started yet. We have to get through the publicity tour of the second one first"

Superman
Mediasharx reports that according to "Smallville" star Allison Mack at the MegaCon over the weekend, Beyonce Knowles and Jessica Biel are still the leading candidates for the Lois Lane role in the Superman movie. Expect the Lois character to potentially appear soon on the show.

The Fast & The Furious 3
Vin Diesel's return has been rumoured for a while, last week Paul Walker indicated he's out of the project (it may have to do with Vin's participation). Now British film mag HotDog indicates that one of Vin's requirements for coming back to play Dom is that the first film's director Rob Cohen helm it again.

Daredevil 2
Guillermo Del Toro is rumoured to be circling a sequel to the recent "Daredevil" movie, this time the project to be based on Frank Miller's acclaimed "Born Again" story and would only have DD in his costume for a very short time in the film.

The Punisher 2
IGN FilmForce just published an interview with Jonathan Hensleigh, writer/director of "The Punisher", and sequel talk is already underway it seems: "I definitely want to do that. Thomas Jane and I have a pledge to work together. I love him. I think that he is a new kind of American cinema actor that hasn't been around for 20-30 years. He's a sort of a throwback...Thomas and I are taking meetings together on a number of projects, but there's one in specific that we're trying to get going".
